About Asset Log and its verification process
Asset Log is an independently run publication. It distinguishes official information, experience personally confirmed by its operator, analysis of public data, hypothetical calculations and forecasts. It does not fill gaps in qualifications or professional history with assumptions.
The operator and privacy
One operator writes and checks the site. The operator’s real name, employer, address, detailed family information, personal assets, account balances and holdings are not published. Financial credentials or years of experience without verifiable public support are not claimed. Instead, the site makes its sources, calculation assumptions, editorial process and correction channel visible.
What the site covers
Index-investing articles explain index rules, actual fund history and risk using provider and manager publications. Public historical data are not the operator’s investment returns or future forecasts. Cryptocurrency-service experience is limited to the accounts and activities the operator has confirmed; account ownership, past use and current primary use are distinct. Household and mobile-service comparisons identify provider terms and hypothetical assumptions. Market-learning tools use historical scenarios, not promised outcomes.
Evidence and checks
Regulators are preferred for rules and registration; index administrators for indices; managers for fund terms, costs and NAV; and providers for service terms. Unconfirmed facts remain unconfirmed. Time-sensitive conditions carry a check date.
Data work records the source URL, retrieval time, data cutoff, row count and SHA-256. It checks dates, duplicates, missing values, units, currency, costs and FX treatment. Returns, CAGR, volatility, drawdowns and examples are checked with separate calculations and compared with the published tables. See the localized methodology and editorial pages below.
Publication, advertising and corrections
Checks cover factual consistency, sources, assumptions, risks, mobile layout, links, canonical URLs and structured data. Material corrections or changes are recorded in update notes; historical values are not silently replaced for presentation. Advertising compensation alone does not determine rankings. Promotional links must be identifiable and their benefits, limitations and comparison conditions explained.
